Question 1

How much does a matte stretch ceiling cost in the UK?

Accepted Answer

Matte stretch ceiling installation typically costs between £45 and £110 per square metre, depending on room size, ceiling complexity, and any integrated lighting. We offer free site surveys with no-obligation quotes tailored to your specific space.

Question 2

What is the difference between matte and gloss stretch ceilings?

Accepted Answer

The key difference is the surface finish. A gloss ceiling has a highly reflective, mirror-like surface that amplifies light and creates a sense of space. A matte ceiling has a non-reflective surface that absorbs light, producing a calmer, more understated effect. Both use the same PVC membrane system and share the same practical benefits.

Question 3

Can matte stretch ceilings be used with LED lighting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Matte membranes work very well with recessed LED spotlights, cove lighting, and perimeter LED strips. Because the surface does not reflect light, the effect is softer and more diffused than with a gloss ceiling, which suits spaces where a relaxed ambience is the goal.

Question 4

How long does installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most rooms can be completed in a single day. The membrane is heat-stretched into an aluminium track system fixed to the walls, so there is no wet work, no drying time, and no mess. The room is ready to use immediately after installation.

Question 5

Will a matte stretch ceiling cover cracks and uneven plasterwork?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The stretch ceiling is installed below the existing ceiling, completely concealing any cracks, stains, uneven surfaces, or previous repair work. This makes it an excellent solution for older properties where replastering would be costly and disruptive.

Question 6

What colours are available in matte?

Accepted Answer

Matte stretch ceilings are available in a wide range of colours, from classic white and warm off-white to charcoal, navy, sage green, and custom tones. We bring colour samples to your site survey so you can choose in your own lighting conditions.

Question 7

Do you install matte stretch ceilings outside London?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We install matte stretch ceilings across the UK, with a strong presence in London and the South East. We travel for larger residential and commercial projects. Get in touch to discuss your location and we will confirm availability and arrange a site survey.
